Arjun Verma

Arjun K. Verma, a distinguished sitarist, has honed his skills in the North Indian Classical Music tradition, studying under the renowned Maestro Ali Akbar Khan and continuing his training with Alam Khan. Having been initiated into the world of music by his father, international sitarist Roop Verma, Arjun's exposure to the genre has been lifelong. Arjun's performance experience spans over three decades and multiple continents, with appearances at notable venues such as the United Nations in Geneva and the Fox Theater in Oakland. His innovative cross-genre collaborations and solo performances have been recognized by several awards, including a Mosaic Silicon Valley commissioning grant and a Creative Work Fund grant. His work as a composer includes commissioned pieces for documentary films, operas, and live performances, and his 2021 solo album, "Epiphanies", pushes the boundaries of sitar sound through cutting-edge recording technology. Arjun's contributions to music extend to teaching at the Ali Akbar College of Music and the East-West School of Music, sharing his mastery of the sitar and North Indian Classical Music with students.
